QFIN Basics: Trendy Back to School Hairstyles

My outfit is simply never complete until I start adding on some accessories, a purse, shoes, and lastly one of the most important features of an outfit for me- the way I style my hair. A simple hairstyle has the power to completely transform your look and take it to the next level. The goal of this blog post is to provide viewers with some hair inspo that they can try out on their next look!

1. Claw Clip Twist

This hairstyle has been around since the 90s however is making an iconic comeback now and thank god it is! This look has been my go-to summer hairstyle. If you are looking for a cute up-do and running short on time, then this look is the look for you!

2. Claw Clip Waterfall

Can you tell I am absolutely obsessed with claw clips? Claw clips were my saving grace this past summer when I was running short on time, had flat, boring hair and wanted to still look cute! This messy-chic up do is such a fun hairstyle to add some spunk to any look.

3. Beach Waves

Living far from an ocean and desiring salty beach waves mean finding a way to create my own. If you are lazy and do not wash your hair every day (me!)- then this is THE look for you. These effortless, beachy waves will last you days without having to touch them up and look/hold best on dirty hair- SCORE!

4. Hollywood Curls

I know I am getting a bit ahead of myself but this the perfect hairstyle for the holidays- which is why it is important that you master it now! These retro curls that were originally popular in the 1940s but have been brought back to life by Lana Delray. Creating these curls may be difficult but it a skill you for sure want to master! A game-changing step for this look is to make sure you brush the hair while the hair is hot into your desired wave pattern.

5. Sleek Low Bun/Ponytail

When I think of a sleek up-do the first person that comes to my mind is the Hadid sisters. These sisters know how to completely rock a slicked back up-do. I usually wear a sleeked low bun or ponytail when my hair is dirty as I find it easier to achieve a sleek look. This look is my go-to when I have limited time on my hands. To achieve the “sexy sleek and shine” look apply a small amount of hair- gel, and hairspray.

6. Hair Scarves

I always look to incorporate a hair scarf to my outfit when my hair is just not cooperating. This could be because it is dirty, frizzy or anything and everything in between. Hair scarves have been a trend I am currently loving mainly because one scarf provides us with endless looks/possibilities. Another look Delaney Childs completely kills! The real question is what look CAN’T she pull off?

7. Textured Ponytail

This hairstyle offers an alternative to the well-known sleek and smooth ponytail. This laid back, relaxed hairstyle is perfect for someone trying to achieve the “I am totally not trying” look. Many hairdressers recommend blow-drying your hair first, curling it, and then throwing your hair back into a ponytail. To add extra volume/messiness add in some texturizing spray and tease your hair with a comb.

8. Sleek Straight Center Part

The absolute queen of a sleek straight center part is no doubt, Kim Kardashian. This look has said its goodbyes to volume and brought back a flat, sleek look. This hairstyle is a go-to on a night out when you are looking to showcase your makeup. HINT: be sure to use a tail comb and a drop or two of oil to smooth down any flyway’s and leave your hair extra shiny.
